This brief tutorial is written to show you how to know the hardware information on Linux especially using some command line in console and some GUI based tools for mapping the hardware specification. This command line is the common one to be used to know the hardware specification on Linux. Using this command, the system will reveal some hardware basic info, such as chipset series; USB controller; and PCI.
Lshw provides more details information of the installed hardware. You need to install this command to be used.
To install it on Ubuntu, type this command:
sudo apt-get install lshwfor Fedora:
